Babar was related with the Pakistani ODI group for the home series against Zimbabwe in May 2015.
He made his ODI debut in the third ODI on 31 May and scored a shocking fifty scoring 54 runs off 60 balls.
His stunning show got him a spot in both the Test and ODI series against Sri Lanka. He wasn't picked to play in the Test series. During the ODI series, he scored 37 runs in two matches. Babar was related with the gathering ODI series against Zimbabwe in Sep 2015.

Babar added to his side's triumph by scoring 29 runs. With the alternate and last ODI deserted because of the storm, Pakistan won the series 1 – 0.
